Topic: New Feed in Tariffs for SA

The responsibilities of the Senior Engineer of Electricity Infrastructure Planning Department within NERSA include development of regulatory methodologies for evaluation of investments in power generation/transmission in the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI); development and annual update of the National Integrated Resources Plan (NIRP) as a foundation for licensing of new power stations; technical; financial and economical evaluation of transmission expansion plans and license applications for power generation; technical assistance in development of regulatory policies and electricity prices evaluation.

Following the NERSA requirement for completion of the Renewable Energy Feed – in Tariff (REFIT) regulatory Guidelines by March 2009, the Senior Engineer was tasked with the completion of the REFIT Project.
