The Construction Products Sector includes the Insulation, Gypsum, Exterior Products, Pipe, and Industrial Mortars activities. The wealth and diversity of the Sector’s activities provides all areas of construction with a solution tailored to each need: acoustic and thermal insulation, façade coatings, roofing materials, exterior products, and pipes.
Gyproc and Donn
BPB Gypsum is now Gyproc, Saint-Gobain’s Gypsum Activity. Together with its integrated partner Donn Products, Gyproc will continue to supply the local construction industry with a complete gypsum-based product range. The Saint-Gobain Gypsum Activity is a world leader in the supply of plasterboard and gypsum plasters, serving growing markets for building systems in over 50 countries.
Isover
Owens Corning South Africa, known for the Think Pink Aerolite brand, is now known as Isover, the global enterprise brand name for Saint-Gobain’s Insulation Activity. Isover’s local operations include Glasswool and Stonewool. Isover currently insulates one in three European homes and one in five homes in the United States.
Sagex
Sagex, formerly part of Owens Corning SA, is an independent brand under the Saint-Gobain Construction Products SA umbrella. Sagex is a leading manufacturer of expanded polystyrene products used in packaging and in the insulation of cold environments.
Weber
Tile adhesive and grout manufacturers, Tac and Tylon, have already been using the new name, Weber – Saint-Gobain’s Mortars Activity. Weber strives to develop innovative, reliable and competitive solutions that satisfy the techniques and characteristics of each situation. Weber boasts a presence in more than 26 countries around the world.
Saint-Gobain Pipelines
Saint-Gobain Pipelines South Africa, previously known as Besaans-du Plessis Foundry, has been manufacturing Cast Iron products for the building and civil construction industry since 1946 in South Africa. It has the distinction that it manufactures a complete range of manhole covers and frames as well as storm water gratings and carries numerous products of its own design to satisfy customer requirements.
Saint-Gobain Abrasives
Saint-Gobain Abrasives is also part of Saint-Gobain South Africa. Norton, the world's largest manufacturer and supplier of performance engineered abrasives for technical manufacturing and commercial applications as well as general household and automotive refinishing solutions.
LBS
Saint-Gobain South Africa has an extensive network of logistical warehouses throughout the country. This network brings our products closer to our customers and provides flexibility and speed in service requirements.
Saint-Gobain Construction Products Academy SA
The Saint-Gobain Construction Products Academy (formerly BPB Gypsum Academy), which currently offers training in dry walling and ceiling installations, will soon incorporate a new basket of products in its syllabus, i.e mortars and insulation. This will enable students to broaden their skills development.
Technical and Specifications Department
- The Technical and Specifications Division at Saint-Gobain Construction Products SA is newly formed and specialises in technical learnerships and training. It provides technical advice for all stakeholders.
- The Department is expanding to incorporate all companies within the Saint-Gobain group. New focus areas are:
- Training syllabi for mortars and insulation
- Energy efficiency standards for buildings
- All members of the Technical and Specifications Division are required to be nothing less than experts in their fields in order to offer solutions to both internal and external customers.
The future
Saint-Gobain Construction Products South Africa will continue to expand the offering, by focusing on customer specific needs. Development of the right product systems and solutions will ensure a continued market leadership position well into the future.
